Chicago Bulls guard Dwyane Wade is out for the remainder of the regular season due to an injury to his right elbow.

His availability for the postseason — if the Bulls make it — is another question though. The Bulls are yet to take Wade’s return off of the table, and today coach Fred Hoiberg offered an update on Wade’s injury.

For now, the team needs to focus on qualifying for the playoffs in order to give Wade a chance to return at all. They currently sit one game behind the Miami Heat for the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Since Wade went out, the Bulls have remained inconsistent, going 3-3 over a six-game stretch that included a triumphant win over the Milwaukee Bucks and a season-worst loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Rookie forward Paul Zipser has been starting in Wade’s place.
