The three-time NBA champion is averaging 18.9 points, 3.9 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game while shooting 43 percent from the field and 33 percent from three in his first season with the Bulls.
In his two-game absence, the team suffered frustrating losses to the Orlando Magic and the Detroit Pistons, moving their record to 31-33 on the season, and 5-6 in the eleven games Wade has missed on the year.
Rookie forward Paul Zipser started in Wade’s place against the Magic and Pistons, but struggled to make an impact, scoring a total of seven points across the two games.
The Bulls played the Rockets once earlier this season when they lost in overtime by a score of 121-117. Bulls All-Star Jimmy Butler missed that game with a right heel bruise.
