During Tuesday night’s 122-120 loss to the Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls center Robin Lopez got into an intense fight with Raptors big man Serge Ibaka.
Punches were thrown, both players were ejected from the game, and now both players have been suspended for one game.

It’s a pretty light sentence considering the severity of the fight, a rare instance where real punches are thrown on an NBA court instead of a mere shoving match, like we saw between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors Monday night.
Lopez will miss tonight’s game against the Detroit Pistons, one of the most important games of Chicago’s season considering they are competing with Detroit for a playoff spot.
Chicago has two other centers on the roster, rookie Cristiano Felicio and trade deadline addition Joffrey Lauvergne. Coach Hoiberg is yet to announce who will start in Lopez’s place.
