Jimmy Butler Addresses Possibility of Being Traded

Jimmy Butler

Chicago Bulls All-Star Jimmy Butler has proven himself to be one of the NBA’s true superstars during his phenomenal 2016-17 campaign.

But despite this, the Bulls are 25-26. It can’t really be blamed on Butler — the front office failed to put a competent team around him. Regardless of blame though, it looks like the team is far away from being a real contender.

Because of this, the organization has continued to discuss potential trades involving their star forward.

Trade rumors have swirled around Butler all season to the point where they have gotten back to him multiple times. Now, he is making his feelings about the rumors known.

The sixth-year forward confirms that the front office has made him no promises about his status with the team, but he isn’t letting anything distract him from the game.

While Butler repeatedly expressed a desire to stay in Chicago, he also made it clear that he understands the business side of things. A trade could obviously be the right move for the Bulls, but a player of Butler’s caliber surely believes he is the best option for any team.

The three-time All-Star missed Friday night’s game against the Houston Rockets with an injury to his right heel. After an MRI, Butler was determined to be day-to-day, and is a game time decision for Monday night’s game against the Sacramento Kings. The team is 0-3 without their starting small forward this season.
